The Research Process
Using your diary:
1/. have a look at the design software and practical skills options, then choose one to best suit your needs and skills that you what to develop upon and note this in your diary.
2/. Conduct a study of what your design topic is to be about. Do the research on the topic and note the research outcomes in your diary. You may need to do an industry study to find out more about your topic and note your findings in your diary.
3/. Research how others have approached the same project and learn from these. Look for the way others have presented your topic and learn from them. Make diary notes on your findings and include any screenshots or images which will affect your design project.
4/. You need to plan out your project management and communication skills and and WH&S requirements which maybe needed in your design project. For example a surfing video will need to show a board in good condition, a leg rope and even maybe a helmet, if the conditions are extreme or there are rocks. Make notes of any of these in your diary.
5/. You will need to show some prototypes of your project. That is ideas development before your first project begins - use your diary for this and add images to your diary where applicable.
6/. Evaluate your project each fortnight and note in your diary your formative evaluation and the changes you have had to make, to enhance the project.
7/. After the project completion, you need to make a summative evaluation, on how the project went and any unresolved issues that were not finalised at the project finish. (Not having enough time to complete the project is not a valid response, as it would reflect poor time management skills).
